Today was England’s football match against Slovenia in Port Elizabeth which they won impressively due to a goal from Jermain Defoe. I thought that I would mention it as it seems to have taken over the whole of my village like a scene from Dawn of the Dead (but the zombies are drunk and have better skin tone). I’m shocked that so many people managed to get the day off work but thankfully I found a pub that was just right (not too loud, good screen size, good atmosphere, easy bar access etc). If only the nation could be rallied together for a more noble or humanitarian cause; we could potentially remove world debt or solve the current economic pandemic…at the very least we could clear the tramps out of most UK town centres or form a giant mob to hunt down Gordon Brown and push him into a ditch (or Brian Sewell I’m not fussy).
