I take notes constantly about ideas that I have for close-up magic. These ideas fall into the following areas;  the timing, technique, style and psychology of sleight-of-hand, new ideas for effects or methods, new ideas for presentation and showmanship and better ways of understanding the psychology of an audience. I have thousands of notes spread across multiple notebooks and Whilst typing this blog I am flipping through the pages of them…with hindsight some of the ideas are very bad but some are great. The very act of reading these old notes is forcing me to confront the ideas within them which is ultimately forcing me to think and as a result I have just had two new ideas. This has made me realise that I need to spend even more time going over my previous notes as that is the final part of this creative feedback loop. Hopefully some of these ideas with be coming to an area near you soon.
