This afternoon I found myself at festival pier boarding a luxury boat on the river Thames. I was booked to perform close-up magic for around 50 people and to say it was challenging would be an understatement; not only was the midday sun blisteringly hot but the river was very choppy and therefore it was like performing while someone continually tries to push you over. For a brief moment I thought that I had sunstroke but it turned out to be ‘You’ve been thrown all over the shop nausea syndrome’. Close-up magicunder these conditions are tough at best however I actually had a very good time and thank you to Adrian for inviting so many lovely people.
